Many years ago, there was an astronomy group which made and used a 6 inch reflecting telescope. The mirror was provided by Mr. Bill Kay of Lerwick. We have nearly finished restoring a 12 inch Dall-Kirkham, made and donated by Mr Bill Kay as well as a 10 inch reflector on a hefty mount, donated by Mr. Reg Hussey of Mossbank.
